Program Overview

The CITE Amazon Web Services (AWS) Academy offers hands-on experience in the AWS environment and introduces you to essential AWS services and common solutions. The course covers the fundamental AWS concepts related to compute, database, storage, networking, monitoring, and security. You will work in AWS through hands-on course experiences in every class. The course covers the concepts necessary to increase your understanding of AWS services so that you can make informed decisions about solutions that meet business requirements. Throughout the course, you will gain information on how to build, compare, and apply highly available, fault-tolerant, scalable, and cost-effective cloud solutions. 
This course will take place through asynchronous online content, four (4) Zoom lab sessions, and real-world assignments. This Academy is produced with Tech Reformers and facilitated by John Krull, AWS Authorized Instructor. 

This program might be for you if: 

  • You are a current or potential AWS user and are interested in seeing how AWS works and its functionality.
  • You have basic knowledge of common data center architectures and components (servers, networking, databases, applications, and so on). 

This program is ideal for Sys Admins, Network Admins, Cloud Architects, Security Analysts, Infrastructure Directors, Network Engineers, Network Services Managers, Solutions Architects, SysOps Admins, etc.

The program consists of 4 modules that cover the following topics: 

  • Wednesday, May 7th, 9-10:30am via Zoom
    • Introduction to AWS & AWS Compute

  • Wednesday, May 14th, 9-10:30am via Zoom
    • AWS Networking & Storage

  • Wednesday, May 21st, 9-10:30am via Zoom
    • AWS Databases, Monitoring, Load Balancing & Scaling

  • Wednesday, May 28th, 9-10:30am via Zoom
    • Enterprise Networking, User Management & Capstone
