Event Details
There is a great way for you to get started with implementing project management with your team (even at a small scale), and that’s by attending and participating in K-12 Project Management Conference: “Summer Camp” in San Diego on Thursday, June 27 and Friday, June 28. This is different than receiving training about how to manage a project. This is a truly special in-person event ($200 per person) that will guide you through activities, discussions, and strategic planning to help you start USING and APPLYING project management in 2024-25. The target audience includes K-12 I.T. managers, directors, and CTOs; K-12 I.T. staff who assist with strategic planning; and K-12 I.T. staff who plan/lead projects.
Summer Camp Key Activities:
- Organizational Project Management Maturity – How mature is project management in your I.T. department? What would moving up “one level” bring you?
- Pebble, Rock, Boulder Activity – How do you define your small, medium, and large projects? Just how much project management do you need for a small project compared to a large one?
- Your Project Portfolio – Looking at ALL your projects, what do you care to track and manage at a high level? How do you prioritize your projects? How do you know which project to take on next?
- Morning and Afternoon Campfires – Whole group discussions
- Awareness of Training Opportunities – What professional development exists that will help your staff grow and learn more? NOTE: Don’t miss out…prior to this event there are 19 free sessions on June 21 (Zoom) for all K-12 I.T. staff, great for training!
- Fun Stuff – This is a “summer camp” themed event, so prepare for music, activities, active learning, and networking opportunities
