Gabriel Rivera

Gabriel Rivera, joined the West Covina Unified School District technology team as the Chief Technology Officer on April 3, 2023. Gabriel joins WCUSD with over twenty years of experience in planning and implementing technology in educational settings. He has worked in Director-level positions the last 15 years in higher education, K-12, and in CTE organizations throughout Southern California. Gabriel is an active member of the California IT in Education Association (CITE) and earned their certified Chief Technology Officer recognition in 2014. In 2023, Gabriel completed the Chief Information Systems Officer Association CISO certification. Prior to WCUSD, Gabriel served as Director of Technology Support Services at Riverside City College, Director of Technology and Innovation Services for Bassett Unified School District located in La Puente, California. Gabriel has a Bachelor of Science in Computer Network Management and a Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership. He and his wife reside in the Inland Empire.
